Osseointegration Or Regeneration, Reality Or Myth?
Lecture Overview
Peri-implantitis is a difficult condition to manage clinically. Surgical treatment is often the only option available to stabilise peri-implant health. Regeneration of peri-implant bone loss through surgery is a challenging procedure, often with an unpredictable outcome. Furthermore, even if there is evidence of radiographic bone fill following regenerative procedures, re-osseointegration remains uncertain.
Is radiographic bone fill a realistic goal in regenerative surgical treatment ? How important is re-osseointegration clinically and what are the clinical implications? These are the issues that will be explored in this talk.
